When studying for the WSET Level 3 Wines Certification, one of the greater concerns of the candidates is the tasting exam.
These sessions are designed to provide additional blind tasting practice to current and prospective WSET Level 3 students where they can taste wines relevant for the exam, and with a guided analysis of each wine.
The goals of this session are:
- Writing a correctly formatted WSET Level 3 tasting note, using appropriate terminology for the WSET Level 3 qualification.
- Accurately assessing the structure and flavor profile of the wines.
- Coming to a logical conclusion about the wines’ quality and ageworthiness.
Former WSET Level 3 students, graduates as well as Level 2 graduates who would like to get their feet wet before committing to Level 3 are also welcome to join.
Tasting Format:
- We’ll have 3oz. pours of 4 wines to be tasted blind.
- For the first 20 minutes, we’ll go over the WSET Level 3 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine, discussing how to approach and evaluate each component of a wine.
- Each participant will first write their own tasting note on the wines.
- Dilek Caner MW will lead the discussion and analysis of the wines with the group.
