WSET Level 1 Award in Wines Course and Examination

Level 1 course offers a well-rounded introduction to wine, focusing on wine tasting technique, major wines of the world, and food and wine pairing principles. Consider this class if you are relatively new to wine and would like to expand your knowledge and move to the next level.

The class consists of a total of in-person instruction, tasting and a multiple-choice exam at the end of the course.

If you register for a Level 1 in Wines course within two business days of the course date, you will still be able to fully participate in the course. However, we will need to arrange a mutually convenient date in the future for you to sit the Level 1 in Wine exam.

Tuition, fees and taxes: $345 plus $15 shipping and $29.70 sales tax
The course fee includes all wines to be tasted, study materials, administration and exam fees.

We now also offer some classes in Fort Worth, and those dates are noted as such in the registration form. A light lunch is provided in the Dallas Courses, but not in the Fort Worth courses. However, there are many restaurants in the vicinity and the venue we use has its own restaurant as well.

You must be at least 21 years of age by the time of your course start date.

To register for  WSET Level 1 Course and Examination, please use the form below:

  • Student's information

  • This is the name that will be printed on the student's WSET Level 1 Certificate, and it must match the photo ID that they will use when taking their WSET Exam.
  • Must be a valid email address that the student checks regularly.
  • Any study materials and certificates will be mailed to this address.
  • If you pass the exam, your certificate will be sent to the address you’ve provided above. If your certificate is lost in the mail due to an incorrect address or an address change that was not communicated to us, there will be a $55 fee + tax for a replacement certificate. Any address change requests should be sent in writing to admin@dallaswinecenter.com.

    Please note that we will eventually need to contact the recipient directly to send them the course and exam result notifications. However, if this is a surprise gift, we'll wait until you present your gift to them first.
  • All cancellation and rescheduling requests must be received via email (admin@dallaswinecenter.com) at least 16 days before the course start date for a refund minus the study materials ($25), shipping costs ($15), and finance charge (3%) if materials have already been shipped or if online access has been granted. If a rescheduling request is received within 3-15 days of the course start date, a rescheduling fee of $95 + tax will apply. Rescheduling requests received within 2 days of the course start date cannot be granted and will be treated as a cancellation.

Fees and requirements for Level 1 Exam re-take on a date where an exam is already scheduled.

Postponement Period: Students must give notice of postponement before exams are ordered in order to reschedule without a new exam fee. If given appropriate advance notice, the first postponement is free. If given appropriate advance notice, additional postponements within 12 months of the start of the course will be subject to a $20 administrative fee per postponement request. Postponement after 12 months from the start of the course is subject to a new exam fee.

Reschedule/Resit In-Person exam: $95.00 plus tax, at least 15 days prior to new exam date

Reschedule/Resit Online exam: $125.00 plus tax, at least 23 days prior to new exam date

Private Exam: Proctor fees in addition to exam fees apply. Send an email to admin@dallaswinecenter.com to schedule a private exam and inquire about the related exam fees.
